It was a day to regroup for our Redlands Mens 2nd Grade, who lost their match against South Brisbane Mens 2nd Grade by five wickets at Norman Gray Oval on Saturday.
We batted first and finished with 9/219 on the board from 50 overs. Will Souter's 52 off 77 balls was a half-century to remember. Jack Sonter contributed 33 off 43 balls. South Brisbane Mens 2nd Grade's best with the ball was Hasitha Nirmal (three for 37).
In reply, our opponents passed our total, finishing on 5/221 in 44.4 overs. Harry Short posted 62 for the hosts, a quality fifty. Jasper Sumner was the pick of the bowlers, taking three for 39 off ten overs.
Credit to our opponents, who played well.
We'll go again.
