It wasn't to be for our Redlands Tigers 2 Over 40's, who were undone by Ipswich Over 40's on Sunday in Brisbane Over 40's Cricket.
After batting first, we finished on 10/106 from 30.4 overs. Robbie Swaney's 33 off 50 balls was the highlight with the bat. Jon Pearson chipped in with 23. Amila Weththasinghe was the pick of Ipswich Over 40's' bowlers with four for 14.
The hosts reached the target at 6/108 in 23 overs. Our opponents' best with the bat was Weththasinghe, who made 41. Peter Fitzpatrick bowled beautifully to finish with four for 19.
There were some polished individual efforts to build on.
Thanks to the hosts for the contest.
