The Redlands Mens 5th Grade went under to South Brisbane Mens 5th Grade on Saturday.
South Brisbane Mens 5th Grade batted first and made 6/295 from 40 overs. Hats off to Rory Gibbs, whose 101 was a good century for the hosts. Daniel Bone made a fine 64 not out for our opponents, a well-deserved half-century. Hayden Sheppard was the pick of our bowlers with two for 15. Patrick Schofield offered good support with two for 31.
Our chase ended at 83 from 19.5 overs. Schofield top-scored with 19 off 39 balls. Five wickets for Daniel Furby of the hosts, who returned five for 30.
We'll take the lessons from this one and go again. It's eight defeats on the trot, and the boys will be eager to bounce back.
Well played to our opponents.
